I assume you OWN the original game?

If you don't have an Nforce chipset you can try StarF*ck 0.82 and mount the mini image in Daemon Tools/Alcohol Virtual Drive. It also lets you create a '1 click' link via the Link Generator that automates the whole process of mounting the mini image, disabling optical drives and running the game.

Damon Tools and Alcohol are separate programs you'll have to download, Daemon Tools is FREE to use however!

For SF 0.82 I set these settings in the PREFRENCES:

CDRoms Located: Secondary IDE (because both my CD/DVD drives are on Secondary IDE, select which is appropriate for your setup)
Method of CDrom Patch: SuperAggressive
Folder of Daemon Tools: (Set this to absolute path to Daemon, i.e. C:\Program Files\D-Tools)
Folder of Alcohol 120%: (again, set this to the Alcohol directory if installed)
Language: Guess
Waiting for mount in msec: Leave at 1000

Now SAVE PREFERENCES!

In the Links Generator:

All boxes ticked (patch blacklist, patch cdroms etc)
Protections: StarForce 3.4.63.002
Type of Starting: Start with EXE
Virtual Program for mounting image: (Choose Daemon or Alcohol)
Click 'Specify EXE File' and navigate to the game EXE and click it to add it to the 'Path to EXE:' box
Click 'Specify Image' and navigate to the mini image and click on it, usually an MDS but could be different, this will add it to the 'Path to image:' box
Click 'Create a Link' and enter a filename for it and save it somewhere like
your desktop.

That should be it, just click the link you just saved to launch the game! You may have to alter some settings to suit your system like what channel your optical drives are on, and each game you try will have a different EXE and mini image for the Links Generator.

If you have an Nforce chipset you can try Starforce Nightmare, but you'll have to disable your optical drives manually and maybe add a registry entry as per the docs that come with Starforce Nightmare. See this post by Luciel for Starforce Nightmare settings:

Hi BarryB,

Excuse me for the stupid question but can you explain the difference between nForce and non-nForce chipsets that requires old Starf*ck for one and Starforce Nightmare for the other? Thanks in advance,

Joe

Nforce-System may hang on "Agressive"-Settings...

Hi Joe,

it may be possible that nforce-systems crashes when using the "agressive method" within starduck...
... but...
depending on the million combinations of hardware/drivers, configs, a.s.o.,
i am not sure that this effect may only takes place on my system ;-D

Well, used all the starducks released till now and all of them worked for me - without the agressive method as described above.

But I am also able to kill my system with the nightmare-proggy... So, who cares?

Maybe some combination of nforce-chipsets (revision-numbers?), starforce- or game-versions won´t work together...

Grx

@Joe: I think it's something to do with native mode and Nforce chipsets, read the docs for Starforce Nightmare, it explains better.

I also think Starforce Nightmare works better for systems where optical drives are on BOTH IDE channels, StarF*ck didn't seem to like that combination.

i have nforce chip and if u read the starforce nightmare readme file it says about a registry entry u have to make if u use nforce, after that, it works fine.
