Any winhiip counterparts for xbox?
Hey bud,
Is there any program that'll read the xbox drive contents when plugged into a an ide drive? I have an IDE to USB2.0 adapter cable and it shows up and installs it ok.. But like the PS2 HDDs it won't read the info. Is there any tool that can be used to backup your games from the hdd directly to another.. Sort of an alternative to the networking backups. My network is going so slow and I need some sort of other way out.. Drive is unlocked and prepped.. Just need to know if its possible. And by this i mean just transfering dvd2xbox ripped games to the main hdd.. Not doing any actual ripping. Last edited by Quall999; 02-05-2005 at 06:39. Reason: no need for my name :p |

~WoMeNlOvEr ... so far ive moddded xboxes with: 2 Matrixes 3 Xbits My xbox!: -250 gig -XBIT -4981.06 x2 -orange led for light, matching beautifully with the orange x in the splash screen -Component cable my problem...solved?!: -one of my friends says he can get about 450 files off it!... and now i havent seen him for about 4 months..and ive written him like 11 emails.. So what you mean is that you want to take your xbox hdd and use it on your PC? Or I have misunderstood the whole thing...
Anyway, the only way to backup xbox games is to FTP them from your xbox to your PC through LAN. You can NOT use the xbox hdd in your pc and read the files as if it would've been a normal hdd. This is due to the fact of a custom filesystem used by the xbox. cheers |

As what AXmichigan said, use PM's if you want to address a member. Otherwise there is no need to address anyone, members or mods, in a forum topic. I am not the only one here that could have an answer.
I'm not wure if you were asking what kosmiq answered, or if you wanted to do an xbox HDD-> xbox HDD. Questions were kind of mixed. Anyways, if you have 2 modded xbox's and want to clone an HDD to the other, make sure you are using a cross-cable and install a dashboard called "avalaunch" on both (for maximum transwer speed). Or, you can use avalaunch on one, and another ftp app on the other (slower). Avalaunch has a file browser feature that can also connect directly to another xbox, browse, and copy to or from it. That is the only way.
