Hi DABhand,

I translated the original Hungarian sentence truthfully. As I'm Hungarian myself and, in my opinion, have a pretty good knowledge of the English language, please, don't think that you can translate it better than I do. Thank you!

As for telling you off, this is the second time you talk nonsense, without doing deeper research on the subject. (The first was http://fileforums.com/showthread.php?t=68431 ). Also, you might be George W. Bush (YUCK! ) himself incognito but, on this forum, yup, it _is_ the number of (useful!) posts that gives people some kind of ranking so you might want to be around a bit more if you want to argue with me...

Ive also talked to 2 friends online who have hungarian roots, and they told me what I thought it said, the per contract is indeed the word I recognised.

I even tried with an online translator on specific words, and it came up as per contract aswell.


As for talking nonsense, well it would look like that to you seeing as you think differently than I do.

The reason you think that way is because you have read all the warez "propaganda" of its excuses on why people download games illegally. And you obviously havent thought of your law as a complete neutral.

So if im wrong tell me your intepretation of per contract. And keep the big headedness to yourself, cheers.

I was always careful enough never to say that I am/I am not a Hungarian patriot, proud/shameful of my country or my flag, or that I've been/I haven't been around since the late 80's. On this forum - and most other forums, too -, neither your nationality nor your "outside" work/fame matters. (Unless you're a well-known, respected person from the "outside" world, that is.)

I'm not of Hungarian origin, I'm Hungarian. And, no, it's not the word "Hungarian" that matters, it's the lack of the words "of ... origin". If your friends are not native from my country, their language knowledge might be, khm, "imperfect"...

The raw, more or less word-by-word translation of "A felhasználási szerződésben sem zárható ki, hogy a felhasználó egy biztonsági másolatot készíthessen a szoftverről, ha az a felhasználáshoz szükséges" is: "Even in the user/usage contract it may not be closed out, that the user makes a/one security/backup copy of/from the software, if that is needed for the usage".

As for using _automatic_ translator software on _separate_ words of _legal_ text, well, try that with real lawyers. I'm sure they will find it very amusing!

[Edit] By the way, "szerződésben" also means "in/inside contract", not only "as per/by/according to contract".

I read and quoted the law, I haven't interpreted it. I'm no lawyer, I don't speak "legalese", so it is very fortunate that this paragraph is written in a very understandable language.

Now, what exactly are we arguing about?

But the word contract is there buddy, what is a contract? Its an agreement of both parties yourself and the developer/publisher.

And the only time you agree to this contract is by agreeing to the EULA before installing, if in the EULA it states sure you can backup the game then great, but if they say no to any backup then you cant.

I dont think publishers would be happy to release games in any countries were the laws allow anyone to backup their software even if they say you cannot.


Also the "before getting on your high/mighty horse and start waving your flag about" is a figure of speech, it means dont act high and mighty, and nothing to do with nationality.
