After looking around at all the various chips it seems that this one is probally the best all rounder - unless anyone want to say different.

Anyone got any suggestions of best place to buy this from in UK?

The idea behind the DMS4 Pro was the Toxic OS - does the Matrix Infinity have a simalr thing then?

Well yes.... but it wasnt developed my the Matrix Team. Its called the patched HDL that you can install to your memory card. Whats nice about this is that you can customize HDL anyway you like, unlike Toxic-OS. The DMS4 is a great chip dont get me wrong, each chip has its pluses and minuses.

dont listen to these ppl. You will ask everyone in this forum and they will say other different chips you will never heard of in this world. They will never admit dms4 pro is the best chip out there. DMS4 Pro does have a customizable menu unlike what the other member said. With Toxic OS you can load disc, hdd games, HDL right off the chip without having to hold any buttons at startup. Toxic OS also supports DVD9 games on hdd and PAL to NTSC fix and alot more. It will soon have a cheat system in the Toxic OS thus replacing gameshark. Matrix infinity is the older chip and DMS4 Pro is the newer chip. Place your bet.

Dont listen to this guy, he cant read for one and two he odviously doesn't know about some of the hardware issues the DMS4 has. Every chip has its plus and minus.

I say he cant read because I said nothing about a customizable menu. What I meant was you can customize your HDL images with custom splash screens and fonts unlike Toxic you have to settle for what they give you..... not a huge deal but it is a limitation. Now that I have said this they will most likely have a skinnable Toxic on the next release LOL.

*sigh* big deal you can do the same thing with the MI. In the config menu of MI you can set the default boot method to dev1 which will boot whatever you have in mc0:BOOT/BOOT.ELF which in this case could be a patched HDL skinned with your favorite image.

*sigh again* Once again more features the the MI and DMS4 both have in common, I really dont get his point at all with this that one. You can load your DVD9 games to your HDD via winhiip and play them with the latest patched HDL.

So what ..... its still keeping pace with DMS4. Dont get me wrong I'm not anti DMS4 at all. Just seems like people feel they have to dog other chip to make them selves feel better. Why should we admit that the DMS is better, when it ain't? I don't know of any other chips which suffer inherant problems such as Ground Bounce - and with the sort of stuff we can produce today, this simply shouldn't be happening. How many other chips suffer Ground Bounce? Exactly...

Now the MI shares all the features the DMS has - and has NO Ground Bounce... Go figure!

The chip has really bad ground bounce problems. All you gotta do is go to dms website and look at all the people having problems with getting it to work at all. I have dms3 and I like it but then I didn't install it and have to deal with all the headaches of ground bounce.

i just got the dms4 pro...anyone here modded that into a slim ps2 b4?....also is it a good chip??....and can u play burnt copies of any games?....also my chip also came with a fix chip....any one know wat that is if u can plz help me it would be awesome...

told ya. Nobody here like DMS4 Pro or ever mention it. That idiot quoted all my sayings should be in the asylum and exterminated. Yes lufcfan I am a DMS4 Pro fan because it is working perfectly. I have it and it give me no problems or what so ever. Perfect working condition.

Spike, your views are very extreme. You only see eyes for the DMS4 and that's not helping anybody. Fine, your DMS4 is working fine - good for you.

But there are a whole load of people who aren't having the same experiences as you (take a look at the DMS forums and you'll see what I mean).

I aren't for a second denying, once working - the DMS4 is a good chip - but there are chips out there which are much cheaper, offer the same features, and are much less buggy install-wise. And for those reasons, you have to class the Infinity chip better than the DMS4.

Oh, and Spedmetal is FAR FAR from being an Idiot. He is one of the most clued up people in the modding scene - so don't say anything without thinking about it first...

@Spike7, Everyone is entitled to there opinion, if you THINK dms is the best chip then so be it. We are not ANTI- anything here, we just tell it like it is.

Now, as far as calling Sped a idiot, You obviously dont know anything about Spedmetal. He's one of the most informed, well respected people in the scene and one of the best installers period. You really made yourself look stupid for that comment.

Send your console to Spedmetal at www.norcalmods.com. DMS4 is not a BAD chip but its one thats best installed by a Profesional. It can be very fussy about the install. The "fix chip" your talking about is a diode fix used for the v12.
