using nocd fix for world snooker champion 2005

I'm new to this no cd thing so i was just wondering if anyone could tell me how to do it. ive installed world snooker championship 2005 and downloaded the fix from this site. what does it mean to replace the .exe file? ive done that but when i try to load the game it starts looking for it. is there something im doing wrong? thanx.
