Everyone with Sims 2 University issues read this!
I clicked the link in the post above this one and found a file called Anti-Blaxx or some such thing. The whole site is in German, but there are plenty of websites out there that can translate the text for free, just do a google search: Free German to English Online Translator
Anyway, I was one of the unfortunates who was using the fixed images. They worked fine, until EA Games released the v1.1 patch for EP1. As soon as the patch was (automatically) applied, my game started crashing, and then just refused to load altogether saying something about "Emulation software detected....blah blah blah". I ONLY have Daemon 3.47, not clone cd or any other.
You have to register at that German site in order to get the file, but registration and download are both free. I was registered and had it downloaded in less than 5 minutes. You have to install the app, right click it in your task bar, and change the settings. Tell it where your daemon tools are, tell it where your sims2_ep1.exe is and what kind of protection it has (i choose SecureRom and it worked). Finally, tell it where your fixed image is (aka mini-image). Then, you click the app in the taskbar again, and choose run game. This brings a list of games that you told it the location to. Choose the game you want and run it. Voila! This will bypass the "CD/DVD emulation software detected...." error. Have fun... again!
