Changing the music in SSF2X HELP?

Hello everyone, I was wondering if anyone knows how to change the music in SSF2X and actually get it to work. I have a working copy, but I can't seem to rip it and reburn it using the Echelon selfboot method. At this point I can't even get an extra copy of it to work, much less change the music . I have searched quite a bit online and have not found any good threads that detail this particular game. I was hoping someone knows how to at least get a copy working using Echelon's method. The copy I have is the Echelon release, although I think that is the only release available right?? So if anyone could detail exactly how to do it I would greatly appreciate it...

Thanks to anyone who responds in advance

This bin has LBA points in other places. Simple, dont use binhack with reselfbooting. U must start burn data session at the same LBA.

okay, but what about when I compile the image for burning with mkisofs what do I put in for the two numbers: mkisofs -C 0,0 <----those two numbers should be what. I know the first one will probably still be 0 but what about the second one? when I retreive the -msinfo from the audio track it gives me 11702 so what number should I put in there when making the ISO? I know if I put in 11702 and then dont run binhack that it won't work. Any suggestions?

When I write "U must start burn data session at the same LBA." I mean use the same audio track. Make a CDI image from burned CD usind DJ. Next find cdirip and extract audio session[s]/track[s] from it. Burn audio track[s] and u get the same LBA which was on CD. Look for MSINFO (must be the same) value and paste it when U build ISO. Simple - right?

Forgive my ignorance, but I still can't get it to work. I did what you said and it still won't work. That is if i did it right. I know its a lot of trouble but would you please post the exact steps on how to do it. I ripped the tracks with CDIRip and i got a .wav instead of an .raw. I didn't know if it would affect anything but i tried to use the .wav anyway, but it still didn't work. So far I've ripped the .cdi image i made with DJ and then used CDIRip to extract the audio and data tracks, the data track had any LBA of 11700. I then used isofix to correct the iso. I ripped the resulting fixed .iso with ISOBuster to my data directory in order to compile it with mkisofs. I burned the audio track that CDIRip gave me and then burned the data track as well, following Echelons guide. BTW - when i checked the audio track with -msinfo it still gives me the LBA of 11702. Does this conflict with the data tracks LBA of 11700? I don't know... . The first time I did it, I didn't binhack the 1st_read.bin because I used the original audio track and bootfile.bin, or IP.bin, that CDIRip gave me, was I supposed to do this? The second time I burned (although it's really like the 15th time) it, I used the ip.bin and audio track that came with the selfboot kit as well as binhacking the 1st_read.bin to 11702 ,and it still didn't work; should I have hacked it to 11700? Right now I am at a loss and really don't know what I am doing wrong, PLEASE HELP ME...... .... I'm fixin' to give up on this game.... I would appreciate your help in any manner you may give it. I wish there was a guide on how to reburn this game so it would be easy to rip. Also, as I was trying to burn this game, I was not changing the music tracks at all. I am first trying to just get the darn thing to work without any alterations before I mess with the music files. I figure, if I can get it to work without any alterations, then I'll have a copy that is easily hacked. Am I wrong about this?

Thanks to anyone who even bothers to read this..... I appreciate your time and any words you may have on the matter.... Thank YOU

Open with an hexeditor all the system files in the game (not just 1ST_READ.bin, all .bin files) and look for CD001. Close to where that string is, replace 5A2E or 52CE for A600, (that replaced LBA 11700/11702 with 0); and then you should be able to burn the files to boot with the Utopia loader or make a bin2boot image.
Hope this helps you

i have successfully changed the music and got this thing to self boot at other LBA's. the trick is with the 1ST_READ.BIN. DO NOT BINHACK IT.!!. instead. open it in a hex editor, search for the hex string, 5A2E0000, thats the hex code for lba 11700. there should only be 1 instance of it. change the 5A2E to your lba,

5C2E for lba 11702
6EB0 for lba 45000
A600 for lba 0

copy that bin to another folder along with your IP.BIN. binhack the copied .bin to your lba. move that IP.BIN back to you selfboot folder. make you iso and burn.

burn a test disc.

Okay, I did everything everyone told me to do, and I did it a whole bunch of times. I used a Hexeditor and changed all the files I needed to. I finally got it to boot up, but now none of the buttons work. I can still soft reset, but I can't hit start. It boots up and then does the normal intro and then goes into the demo fight and it goes reeeeaaallllllllyyyy slow. They stay there for a while and then their life gauges start to just drain by themselves. After a while it says, "Here comes a new challenger," and it does the same thing with different characters.

HELP !!
What did I do wrong !?

i've succesfully changed my SSF2X music into classic cps-1 tunes from the soundtrack of Hyper street fighter 2 ps2 game. i just took my original ssf2x, i used cd-image for extracting its ip.bin , changed the music, did the echelon selfboot process and it worked fine. if someone wants my version , MrqLoves3rds**********com , add me to msn and we can talk about sharing
