Booting backups with Region-X (the new version without a dongle)

I did some searching but didn't really come up with anything of use, so.. Am i able to boot backups with neo2.x and region-x (a new version, the one without that memorycard/dongle-thingy) or do i need that older version? Is there anything special that i need to know before getting that chip? my machine's model is scph-30004.

ANSWER: The new version is best. It's so simple. You boot with DVDR-X press EJECT when the region choice is presented, swap the Disk and press START on your controller.
