Starf*ck may have messed up my DVD+RW drive

I tried using Starf*ck to disable my DVD-ROM and my DVD+RW drives last week. Since then, my DVD-ROM still works, but I haven't been able to use my DVD+RW. The thing opens and closes okay, and I can eject the disk using the right click menu on the drive. However, it won't read anything, and if I try and look at the disk using Explorer, nothing but a blank box comes up. Any suggestions?

This might help...

Try uninstalling then reinstalling your IDE drivers, and then try updating the firmware. It usually helps with problems like this if there isn't anything wrong with your drive.

Did you re-enable the drive, after you presumably disabled it?
Also try running starf*ck again and disable enable the drive to see if you can kick into life again.

I used it once just out of curiosity, worked when I enabled the drive again and my drives are USB connected.

Yeah, tried to reactivate them numerous times.

The drive was at least under warranty still, so I had it replaced. Problem solved -- I guess.
