Well small things first...
It is pretty likely that your xbox will say 50000+ avaible for a looong time.
That's (originally) the free space to save savegames too, and they're not big.

About you having a modchip or not, that is nothing I can answer without more info like where you bought it, did the store say it was chipped, can you play backuped games burned on DVDr?

And about transferring to hdd I think that has been answered a LOT of times around here.

So you go check things out and get back later!

Try saving 100+ times on star wars knights of the old republic, and will gaurantee you it doesnt say 50,000+ free anymore .

To the original poster. I highly doubt it has a mod chip in it. If you want to copy games to your HD then you need one. I would recomend either the X3 or the Xenium ICE. Bothe are great chips, but I have no experience with the X3 so I cannot comment on it. As for copying games, it is really pointless unless you plan on upgrading your HD, otherwise you will only be able to fit 1 or 2 games on it.

If you want to buy a mod chip, I would recomend modchipman.com.

I have more than 100 saves in Kotor2 and it still says 50000+... It could be becuase of my 80gb HDD in my xbox...

And X3 and Xenium ICE are really good mod-chips indeed, get one of those and put in an 80gb+ HDD and you will have the perfect media station that can play games, all kind of movies, all movies and some more stuff.

I did a house call modding someones xbox about 5 months ago. I wanted to install some apps for him but his HDD was too full. He had like 400 soundtracks and ended up deleting almost all of them. Still, there was not enough room. It only freed about 700mb.

Long story short, the guys son had 137 kotor saves that took up over 3gb. It is crazy how much space that game takes up.
