Once reinstalling the game you may have to start another game, this way the saved game folder will be created again as sometimes the save game folder doesnt appear until you have actually started a game. Once you have the folder created you will be able to quit the game so you can copy your old save files back to the correct directory. I do this with all my games, especially after finishing the game.
