nhl 2002

i am very new to burning ps2 games and i tried to burn nhl 2002 and it has the options menu and that but it doesnt load when you play the game.

please help as i want to know what i am doin wrong.
do i need to use a patcher even though i hav a modchip?

I here you.I'm having the same problem although I can't even get to the options screen so I would have to say your ahead of me in that respect. However I have managed to backup Crash. NHL2002 Madden2002 NCAA2002 and Tigerwoods2001 will not go. I have so many Coasters in the corner here I think I may have to get them there own place soon !! Which mod chip are you using I'm using one that I have to boot with a GS2 disk before I play Backups of PS2 games ???

yeh im also using the modchip where u hav to use ar2 to boot the game

Well I think I'm getting closer , I have managed to get Madden2002, NCAA2002, and Tiger working. It is all in the way the Mod chip is working. I found out that mine I need to start with the mod chip in and hold the reset button down until the GS screen apears then you release and the door opens for 4 seconds, insert the backup and let the door close on its own. Then star without codes and it should work. NHL 2002 I have managed to get to actually start playing a game and then it stops ! I think I may have a bad backup on my hands. I will burn it again on a different cdr and let you know what happens. Anyways try the reset option... or are you already ? By the way I'm pretty sure with a modchip you don't have to apply a patch . At least on the NTSC ver. I take it your running PAL ???

Lads,

What modchip and boot cds are you using.

If you have a NEO2.2 or similar you boot all EA gmaes using the EA method.

Have you made sure you know how to boot the games properly???

check out www.psxcopyworld.co.uk on there you will find booting methods.

P.S i have all last years and this years EA Sports games and have had no problems making backups or booting them.

post some more info.

where did u get nhl2002 from is it a download from the net or a backup from a original cd?? how did u make the copy?? what cdrs are you using??

its an original cd and i am using magmedia cd recordable 80 min cdrs

what software are you using to make you backup??

Got it working but only with Clone CD Cdrwin etc would not work for me. Also I used Verbatim Datalife +. the one with Blue dye, now she fires up no problem I hope it works for you Kyle2001
