Pioneer Question?

If I have two drives, one a pioneer burner I just got and one just a regular dvd-rom drive. How do I install both of them, do I set the burner to master, slave, reserved, or cable select? How about the other drive?

if you are going to connect both drives to 1 ribbon cable you have 2 choices:
1- either make 1 drive master and the other slave.
the burner does not necessarily need to be master, but people prefer it that way.
2- configure both drives as cable select. the drive connected to the middle of the ide cable will be treated as slave, the drive at the end of the cable as master.
