Exclamation Cant Turn My Modded Pstwo(slim) On

Hello, Im new to this form and i hope somone here can help me out...
I got a matrix infinty (1.38v) installed in my brand
new pstwo(slim) last week, it was done by a technician
in a store - so i almost certine he did a god job with
the soldering, I also believe the chip is original, he
also installed a laser protection chip - but i dont
know any details about it. We checked the machine in
the store and it looked fine.
Few days later, when i had the chance to test it at
home i found out that i cant turn the PStwo on, When i
pressed the power button nothing happend (the red
light flashes on and of randomly), Some times
the PStwo will start for a few seconds and then shut down
again (most of the time it wont even start).
This happens regardles of the disk i put inside(it
also happends when i try to turn it on with no disk,
or with the tray open).
I first thought the problem lies in the power cable
(coz of the red light turning on and off randomly) but
when I replaced the cable nothing have changed.
I hope you can help me with my problem befor i have to
go to the place were i had the chip installed (its far
away from where i live). I should mention that the ps
was bought in US and i live in israel, this is why i
use an adaptor on the power cord, altough im sure this
is not the cause of my problem.

oh and, Sorry for the ****ty english.
**** it. im not sorry.

Hmm. Maybe try the adapter first.

If that doesn't work, it could be a problem with the install. Just a quick question though, you haven't had any storms etc over the last week have you? They tend to fry things like this (I found that out the hard way once)

I - When you say adapter I Assume you mean the adaptor i connected to the cord (not the universal adapter that came with the PStwo) - I`m sure its not the prombem, you see i use three diffrent cords (two of them without adapter) and got the same results.

II - No storms lately (we dont get much off those here in israel), and even if there was one (if i was sleeping??) the PStwo is not connected, why would it, it doesnt work....

Gotta be some else......

Then I'd say it's either a loose wire which is grounding something, or something has blown on the mobo somewhere

It sounds to me like it might be a PIC fix problem. You mentioned that he installed a laser fix, do you know which one? If it’s the PIC fix (weather or not it has the diode fix as well) this might be your problem. If the PIC fix detects a problem with the mechacon crashing it will turn your v12 off within 3 seconds. I have also seen the PIC fix turn off the v12's with out even turning them on, much like what you are describing, you tap reset on the v12 and you see the light flash then go back to red again. This is exactly what the PIC fix is designed to do. If the mechacon crashes (which it can do right from standby as well) the PIC fix will shut your v12 down so it won’t fry the laser. There are other things that can contribute to the PIC fix shutting your unit down. If the install is faulty the PIC can act the same way. If the resistance value on the 'J' line is too low the PIC will shut down right from the get go as well. But you don’t want it to be too high or the PIC fix won’t do its job. The value needs to be just high enough to turn on the v12 with out error.

I would suggest you contact the installer of your v12 and let him know your problem.
