Seagate vs. Maxtor

Hi,

Should I go with Seatgate or Maxtor HDD for my PS2?
Somebody recommended Seagate over Maxtor because it's quieter and more reliable. The only concern I have for Seagate is that I heard it doesn't work with some of the newer network. I was thinking of getting ST3200822A, would it work? I checked out the compatibility list, and most people said it worked although one person said it didn't.

Anybody had experience with this HDD?
Maxtor is guaranteed to work, but I think there is a batch out there that's bad. Most people are happy with Maxtor ,but some gave it really bad reviews.
Any recommendations between the two?

Thanks

Yes, That's true. But, I felt that I didn't really get the answer I was after. I thought it may be because it was embbeded in another long thread. Is it against the rules? Should I remove the thread? I'm not sure how, though.

I'd like to know which one is best although i am tempted with a Maxtor for some reason.

But what i'd really like to know (that is if i'm allowed to ask it), is how to bypass the 137Gb limit, and then i would like to know what the max limit is after it has been bypassed...

a friend gave me a Seagate 6.4gb hard drive and it works fine in the PS2. On HD Advance screen it shows it as a 6gig HD butafter formatting it then it shows only 4 gig available. Is that right? Also i cant get the New Socom maps to download to the HD. It says 'HD failed to initialized'. I have saved a demo game to the HD. I also tried saving a dvd-r game but it comes back saying 'bad game' or something similar.
