No More Socom2!!
Unless you take your chip out of your PS2, you wont be able to play SOCOM 2, even if you have the original disc. All this is new, and it comes when you download the latest Socom 2 pacth... anyone know how work arround this?

just put the chip in sleep mode and play with your original for the time being.

ive just come of socom 2 my backup version !!! when is this gonna happen and why do we need the patch ,socom 2 is tops as is .. r u sure its gonna happen coz we are expecting the release of s 3 (hope) i have been on starwars battlefront and my opinion is socom is still the undisputed ruler

same thing happened to my cuz he load a backup copy on my modded magic 3.1 system and no sooner did he get on a message came up saying a cheat device was found and they banned his hi rank name

looks like swap sytle is going to have to be used to play games like these

@ Memfis:

You're set on those discs - so I ain't gonna try and stop you any more. You'll have to learn for yourself how bad these discs are. Others will back me up here I'm sure. The Magic 3.x series of mod is REALLY probably the worst mod available for the PS2 (aside the Neo 2.2).

Any other mod probably wont have this problem. Even if they do, I'm sure the flash upgradeable ones (O2, DMS, Matrix Infinity / MXL4, Crystal etc) will have a fix issued. Besides, I tested my mates SOCOM II on my Messiah 2 system online and it's perfectly fine.

ive tryed it on a dms3 as well same problem and screw buying a new chip to play online games its like every 5 months a new chip is needed i dont play socom any how heh so no biggy for me but if all the games get that away thats going to suck

See thats the problem i used the search feature and found all i could on swap magic but i didnt really find any actual cases of problems. Just trash talk with no evidence backing it up and people saying the hassle was crappy and talking about PS2ownz supports it and its the devil. But no logical answer. Yet to have that answer.
