DC no longer plays new backup games.
My DC worked fine, until I got a backup of ######### for Grand Turismo. After that, my DC would load any of the new DC backups, only the old DC backups. Wost of all the ######### cd I got didn't even work. Has anyone got any clue on this?

Mine has that problem off and on, but mine seems to be more leaning towards the DC overheating. So I put my DC in front of my air vent and kept a constant flow of 72-73 degrees going into it.
The other option I thought of was to replace the GD-ROM lens/housing or even doing some custom DC modifications, like mounting a 92mm case fan through the lid of the DC. ####://www3.goldenshop.com.hk/AI-trad/d-main.htm -Dreamcast replacement parts and add-ons ~The Masked M0M0~ |

I've had recent progressively more irritating problems with my DC. I have been thinking it's overheating as well. Ever since I tried Sonic Adventure 2 a couple of weeks ago (not the original GD-ROM), it has been freezing periodically. It first ####ted locking up on SA2 where Sonic was surfing down the street, and now other stuff has ####ted locking up even before it completes its loading. Some stuff seems to work fine - CrazyTaxi 1 & 2, Stunt GP, & Toy Racers for instance. Other stuff just refuses to work - Zusar Vasar worked but locked up with nasty graphic problems, SA2, and a whole lot of others just freeze before they finish loading or the hang shortly after the game ####ts.
I'm suspecting that my graphics chip or processor may be overheating. Of course I could buy a new mainboard for $59.00, or just try an auxilliary fan. It'd be one helluva screwed up mess if I had to play certain games with the DC sitting in front of a window mounted air-conditioner! |
