Fatal Error #02

I installed the viper chip, and have played my backup for Metroid Prime for over 2 hours. I have tested other backups and they have all booted on the first try and worked flawlessly. I took about a half hour break, and decided to try another backup. I turn on the gamecube, and now I get this message "Fatal Error #02" I have no idea what this means, but I can't play backups or originals. I did nothing to the machine for this to happen. It just stopped, I waited another 20 mins, and it's still happening. What should I do?

EDIT - OK, it works with the top cover off, but when the cover is on, I'm getting the error. What the hell is going on?

Im wondering if maybe with the cover on, its pushing on something just enough to mess things up? Look the sucker over and see if you can find anything.

BTW, Im just guessing. But let us know.

Tyler!

It was the cover. Nice guess. For some reason when I remove the cover, everything worked fine, but when I put the cover back on, (without screwing it back on) I would get that message. Even if I slightly put the cover back onto the machine, I would get that message. All my solder points are accurate. So I wiggled the chip itself around slightly, and tried putting the cover back on. Now everything works again. I lightly screwed the cover back on, not tightning it too hard incase of crimping the wires, which is what I think I did it in the first place. But everything now is working fine.

EDIT - I know now completely what the issue was. It happend again to me, so I started investigating everything. It delt with the eject button. In the far back of the gamecube, there are two thin pieces of plastic, which are the lid sensor. Now, I had the top cover off, and I turned on the gc, with no problems. Now, I held the lid sensor down with my finger, and the message came on! Now, I looked at the piece the connects from the chip to the original gc lid sensor wiring, and noticed that the motherboard for it was slightly making contact with the metal shielding. I decided to take the flexwire for the gc programmer, and set it behind the motherboard for the lid sensor wiring. I turned the gc back on with my fingers still pressed on the lid sensor switch, and it booted fine! I screwed the case back onto the gc, and tried booting it again, it booted fine! So, there's your "Fatal Error #02" It deals with the lid sensor.

Help!!!

My NGC have the same problem. I already exchanged the chip but the "Fatal Error #2" keeps showing. I checked the eject sensor as you guys already told, but to no good. I don't know what more to try. It's always "Fatal Error #2". Is there something else I should be checking out? All wires are properly soldered.
Also: when I take out the chip, my NGC runs all original games I have just fine.
What else to do?
