Error while creating Image on disc, Computer Locks Up

I am using AnyDVD and CloneDVD but when trying to backup a DVD eather to HD or to another DVD it locks up my computer and it wont restart!! I have to power it off and on a couple of times for it to restart. The reading process gets to about 20 or 30 %


System:
Windows XP Pro SP2
1.5 GB RAM
Intel P4 3.0 Ghz
2 Seagate 160 Gb HD

What disc is this with? The only time Ive had a pc lock up on me when reading anything, it was with a warped ps2 disc. Make sure your disc is fine before inserting.

It happens with many DVD's I have tried mostly with movies, most recently The Last Samurai.

run your virus software ,adware , spyware etc . friend had problems before same as you !!!! had virus

if not then try some different programs you might have a confliction that is upsetting your pc
how long has this been happening and have you added any progs that might be causing this fault ????? if so then remove the last prog or two depending on when the prob started n re try

Well I know for sure its not the movie "The Last Samurai" because I used CloneDVD2 and Anydvd on that and it came out sweet.


Like spratster said check to see if you have a virus. They can take up a lot of your pc's speed, and maybe enough to lock you up when doing something as intensive as reencoding a dvd.
