i have the same problem, except it scrolls down the screen, have a steering wheel connected, i'm thinking it might just be configuration problem, havent got round to trying it yet. it only happens when i'm in the shops too, and not in the game. I just used the mouse to scroll, awkward, but better than nothing. If you have a wheel connected just try a re config, and it might work.

What Luciel means is, if you have a Joystick connected and its pushed forward or back then the menu's will scroll as its also reading the instructions from the joystick. And steering wheels if turned in either direction will cause the menus to scroll sideways.

If you had the problem b4 you even plugged the joystick in then it cant be the joystick! So configuring it probably wont help. Unplug the joystick and double check to see if the problem is still there, if its not then you do know it is the joystick!

ok, so turns out it works fine without the controller...I can scroll up and down and sideways and whichever way...so I'm assuming it's the controller...but I'm not dumb, I'm not like holding up and pressing down at the same time...I don't know...maybe i configured one of the buttons wrong...what's the best configuration for you guys? is ther anywhere I can find configs that match the "what would be" the PS2 controller...someone help, thank you guys!!

so I tried setting the controller to just about nothing...all I had configured was up/down/left/right and for one button I configured for "enter"

still had the same problem...what could possibly be the problem?

I wasnt saying you are dumb.
If the controller is even slightly in the up or down position it will make the menu scroll. It has to be centered perfectly when you enter the menus.
And i play NFSU 2 with the Keyboard anyway even tho i do have a Joystick and Steering wheel!

yeah, I could play it with the keyboard as well...but I'd just like to sit back a few feet with the controller...it would be so much easier...know what I mean? that's why I don't really play PC games cuz I don't like being tied down to the PC...I'd like to chill out and sit back a little...I'll try to reconfigure the controller again...thanks for the help guys!!
