My Question+Your Answers = Good Choices

Hello All,

I am new to this forum and have done a lot of reading and have found a lot of useful information. I am cool with burning DVD's and CDR's so I am ready to help as much as I can. Ok so here I go. I am in the USAF and have been for about 12 years now. I do a lot of travelling and want a game system to occupy some time and to watch DVD's while I am deployed. I have made a choice to choose a PS2 instead of an XBOX because of what I have read I don't have the time or patience to hook up the XBOX to my PC to be able to backup games. I want to take a PS2 game put it in my PC and go bling bling and be done with it. I have also decided to use the crystal chip. I am not scared to solder becuase I have actually done about 5 of the old PS Ones, and I work with enough aircraft electricians who can do it for me . I am also thinking of getting a 120GB HD and using the HDLoader. Will a new HD fit into one of those new bofangled slim PS2's??? . So what do you think am I ok with my selection? I have used what I read from your experience and your post to make my choice. Any input would be great to let me know if I am making the right choices.

Thanks A lot,
SNOWDOG

cool, well get a crystal chip thats what ive got in my new one Well.. As for putting a harddrive in the slim line ps2 it isnt gonna happen but ive been told you can get external hd and plug it in using usb and a new hd loader will be released, or go on the web or something (EBAY) and look for a 39003 or 39002. Where abouts are you located?

Yeah, a V7 would be a much better choice than a PSTwo (Pretty crap IMHO)

look for a v5 thru v10 even if it meant installing a new laser along with a modchip, in the long run you will be better off.
