of the top of my head the dms4 does do all of that. But i still think infinitys best

Judging from all the problems on the DMS forum i still gotta go with the Infinity and Crystal.

Yeh I will still probarly get the Crystal Chip. Its always good being able to re-flash if need with a legal bios. Just encase.

OK let me pick apart this obviously biased "comparison" chart.

I will simply list the areas that need explaining that this guy made seem like the others are deficient in.

1) Onboard flash size------- the DMS4 Pro only has such a large on board flash because the DMS team wanted to be able to install Toxic OS (Really a modified HDL) to the chips own on board flash. Not a big deal really considering with the CC and MI you can install your own custom patched HDL with custom splash screens to your own 8MB PS2 memory card and directly boot it from there. With the DMS4 Pro you are limited to what the Toxic team releases in regrards to booting HDL from the chip. With the DMS4 lite and DMS4 Pro having such a large (un-needed) flash bios on board this make the chip even larger then it should be not to mention the extremely large Actel chip they decided to us. The largeness of the DMS4 makes it some what difficult to locate a good place to place this whale boat of a chip.
2) Backup flash bank for if the main bank gets corrupted-------- This is really another useless feature. The MI can be forced to go blank and so can the CC and then you simply re-flash.
3) Run games from HDD via OS installed in modchip flash (ie: built in HDLoader) -------- refer back to #1
4) Boot homebrew ELF files from the HDD------ This is kind of a nice feature but really this can be done with HDL and most chips.
5) DVD Macrovision Removal------- Big deal…. As we all know you shouldn’t be using your PS2 as a DVD movie player any way…why put the extra stress on your laser.
6) Advanced RCE DVD support-------HAHA the CC has one over on the other two.
7) Software modchip disable (by press pad button)------ Don't need it when you have hardware disable which is much better anyways.
8) PS2 video y-position fix---- this feature can (and most likely will) be added with a simple flash update (once the CC and MI teams take the time to do it)
9) Default boot mode------ LOL this guy doesn’t even know that with the CC when you have installed BM it defaults to the BM where you can do whatever you would like
10) Custom logo displayed under "Playstation 2" logo------ Once again…..Big Deal the CC has BM which is way better.
11) OS for Modchip-----Once again refer to #1

Don't get me wrong, they all have great features but when you actually look at it from all angles you will see that this guy is trying to make the other two look like less. The CC team specificly didn’t give the CC a large flash because it just doesn’t make since to make the chip over blotted with a giant on-board flash when you can simply use the PS2’s own 8MB memory card to do the same thing. You can even get Datel’s new MAX memory card and have 16MB, 32MB or even 64MB to load stuff to the memory card making the DMS4 Pros 2MB seem puny in comparison, well actually more un-needed when you can also set up the DMS4 to also boot from the memory card. I for one would rather have a small chip that was easy to install like the CC and MI rather then a touchy whale boat of a chip. Oh yeah that’s one thing he forgot to leave out of the chart, the chip size is in my eyes is every important. Also not having severe problems with wire placement and ground bounce is important.

Well, like I said the DMS4 has great features but in my eyes the CC and MI are in a dead heat tie for 1st. Then again I havent had any experience with the O2 (Origa brothers 4th generation chip) so it might be good too.

The O2 is kind of the black sheep of the 4th generation chips, why I dont know. And the Ripper 3 is supposedly a MI firmware rip.

CC Does have a recoverable flash for if it gets corrupted

CC Skips the PS2 Boot screen automatically, so in effect it does have Fast Boot permenantly switched on

I'm also pretty sure the CC has Y Pos. Fix in that OS somewhere (it was there when I looked anyway)...

OH sh*t... yeah your right I forgot about that. It auto fast boots. Yeah I think your right about the y-pos too. damn I'll boot it up right now and look.

Yeah I said the CC can recover... well it forces it back to the stock flash if it gets corrupted then you just reflash.

Also the CC's BM can be considered the chips OS!!

nahh....

It does have a y-position correction but its only for the BM its self, not PS2 games. Oh well like I said it can simply be added when they get the time.

Does the actual company who created the Crystal Chip release the update to play backups? Or is it hard to find? Because while i dont know what i am going to get for my new PS TWO my brother has a V7 and he is wanting to be able to backup his games and play the backups and save his originals because he has already ruined one disc. I told him to either get the Matrix Infinity or Crystal and id prefer crystal yet i dont know about getting the backup working

No, the hacked bios was created from the original source codes that the CC team did release!! This is yet another feature the CC team has over the DMS, they arent hiding any of there source codes. You wont find any source codes from the DMS team thats for damn sure.

You can locate the hacked CC bios by simply searching around the net.

did you read my CC review that is stickyed? You have to get a hacked bios just like you do with the DMS4. Grrrrr ... I feel like a broken record.
