of course you can't let a game recognize a virtual drive as a mini-image, unless it has no built-in daemon tools protection or something like that... but without that original discs could not be recognized as original discs because images act like the same... except @ starforce protection.

won't work for me..

Been reading the forums and trying for days. Got working mini images on D. tools of Xpand rally and GTR with IDE disconnected but won't work with starf... tool. Anybody got it working with these or any ideas? It does hide the drives from "my computer" but not from starforce even though both drives are on the secondary channel.
Grateful for any ideas...

Yes, I've tried doing this, before and after disabling the drives, but neither way seems to make any difference. The instructions in this thread seem to say press patch first!
The tool doesn't need service pack two does it? I've got two installations of XP pro on the C and D drives one with and one without SP2.
Is it possible for starforce to read across to the unactivated installation on the other drive as Starf... doesn't seem to be able to hide the drives at all on the non SP2 installation?
Thanks for ideas...

I do this as the follows: in the system properties, in the device drivers i click on forbid (maybe it has other word, 'cos my windows isn't english one) on all optical drive, so, there just be the virtual drive remains. after i start starf**ktool, and i choose secondary all cd agressive switched on ('cos optical drives are just on the secondary cable). A small window appear with an ok button. I LET it to be there, i DON'T click on ok. Now, i can play the game (just if the mini image is mounted).
But a strange thing: i tried it under virtual machine (vmware). I installed the same op. system, what i have, but the game don't start. It says, it can't start on that operating system (what is the same, which it works, just the virtual machine differs.

it does definitely NOT need xp+sp2, because I use win2000 ^^ indeed, you need 2000 or xp to use star****. who cares, cracks are out, use them instead of star****.

Is it really necessary to have your optical drive and hard disk on seperate IDE channels for starf**k to work properly?
Seeing as there is an option in starf**k to specify what channel your optical drive is on, i wouldnt have thought it would matter if they were both on the same channel. Just having trouble getting superpower2 version 1.3 working using starf**k

Unfortunately, Star****er doesn't work properly with multichannel drives. Unless S-ATA, Star****er will refuse to play any starforce game from mini.

Good luck!

Sorry for my English
This is only for version, that work with mini image!
In new starforce used new version ATAPI check. It work with many errors in Windows. And star**** now don't bypass this. And now, i tell how manuall do this without star****.
1. Disable all cd-rom from BIOS.
2. Run regedit.exe and found HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Enum\S CSI
3. Than disable access for system for this. (For that click right mouse button and select from menu)
4. Run game and fun.
5. If you have a problem to access to device manager, return access for system back.

Regedit just shows the hk local machines name, but it is empty. So i don't know now, how to enable it.
