William penn from activision said its official.

Vampire bloodlines is censored UK/german/french.

However the US version is fully uncut.

uncut wtd? the difference is:
head does fall of at start, you can dismember anyone with swords and axes..
anyone? yep. even cops!!

now you know

Well I for one will be returning my version to the shop on monday! I will be letting them know I paid good money for the whole game not 3/4's of it!! I was pi***d off enough when I found out GTA Vice City had been edited or cut down for the Australian version! Its rediculous that adults can not buy Uncut games!

i've just bought a copy of Vampire Bloodlines from ebay.com, from a guy in Texas, its definitely the USA copy.
i bought it from there even though im in the UK mainly because i got it for ?17 inc. shipping which is a great deal.

i asked the guy i bought it from about the censorship issue - he says the intro in his US version is the same, the decapitation occurs offscreen, you only hear it. the gliding of the characters is the same, meaning the intro still looks rough and unfinished

when i get the game i'll check for myself, make sure it is the USA version and that its censored. but at the moment it looks like all versions have been censored, at least with the decapitation. i didnt find anything official about it when searching the net either

I'm a Bloodlines player here in the US. (I didn't vote for Bush. I don't understand how anyone could. I think it was the Ventrue.) Anyway, our version seems almost as strict as some of yours.
1. In our version of the game, the PC can attack police and innocents—but at the cost of the PC’s Humanity. And, of course, we still can’t attack anyone in Elysium.

2. There's some foul language in the dialogue, ranging from "damn" to "f*ck".

3. There's no nudity (that is, you can’t see women’s nipples or the genitals of either sex).

4. There's blood and the PC can dismember some critters--but not Kindred or Kine.

5. In the original release of the US version, we could see the PC’s sire being decapitated in the introduction; however, with the release of the 1.2 patch, the shot cuts-away just as the Sheriff’s sword comes down.
So, even our version is slightly censored--allbeit, self-censorship.

Ok, well censorship aside, is this game actually worth getting?

I've heard from people who like it and people who don't and going back to montnoir's post which says it's a little buggy. I can get the uk version for £15 and if there's not much by way of differing censorship i think i'm gonna order it.

But back to the censorship, i'm 23, i'd be worried if i hadn't seen real naked women let alone computer renderings. And the last on-screen decapitation? probably 1st res evil movie. Ouch .When will the censors learn, this doesn't shock us anymore!!!

I get no blood, actually. Only time I get blood is when I slash prince Lacroix's neck.
