Random Black Screens from Matrix Infinity

Every once in a while when I turn on my ps2 i get a black screen. What I do then is unplug the power cord for a while and then it works fine. It doesn't happen alot. It usually happens when I move it around from my apartment to my mothers house. I have a matrix infinity in a v9 ps2. Is this normal? Im thinking its the ground. Thanks.

Is the Player 1 controler pluged in when this happens?

Yes the controller is in. It doesn't happen all the time.
