Problems with 16 MB MegaMemory-Card

Since 30 Euro for an original Sony MC is just rediculous, I am still using one of these unpleasant 16 MB MegaMemory-Cards with boot-disk. I haven´t had any problems with it until now (exept swapping discs is really annoying), but now I have gotten some problems: my original Champions of Norrath disc does not load with the Memory-Card installed and booted, and when not using the boot-disc before the game-disc, the game loads, I can choose Normal Game and number of players, but then it just shows a load-picture and gets stuck. Now I am wondering if the problem is the missing memory-card or if my V3-console has laser-problems and is not able to read further on this DVD9-game. And three new games, NFS Underground 2, FIFA 2005 and Star Ocean (all PAL) all do not work with my MegaMemory-Card, the first two don´t accept it, Star Ocean doesn´t even load (accept if I don´t boot the Memory-Card). Other new games like Ratchet and Clank 3 or Crash Twinsanity and all older games do not cause any problems. So my questions are: does Champions of Norrath load without any memory-card installed with your concole , and does anyone have any similar or different experiences with the MegaMemory card and/or any explanations. I know, I should buy a proper MemCard, and I will do this on the long run, but at the moment I just can´t afford it. Please answer!

sorry, forget about these MegaMemoryCard-Problems, I know it´s crap and found different threads dealing with compatibility-problems. What really bothers me is that I don´t know if my V3 is able to read the DVD9 of Champions of Norrath. So please, if you could just give me a short answer if your CoN-DVD works without any memcard installed? Thanx!
