1. halo 2...The civil war that you are talking about, is the elite race stopping the activation of halo, AFTER they find out what it does. The Prophets still think it can be controlled, it can't. Eventially, everyone but the brutes and prophets were against it.
2. in war, what thing other than land brings it about? You can pretty much relate halo's story line to almost any war if you wanted to, since almost all wars have 2 things in common. Actually, any game that has a war can be related to any real war.
