A question regarding Civilizations 3 Gold

Hello, I've done some searching in these forum, on GCW and a couple of general searches via google. My question is if anyone has had an created or found a No CD crack for this game. I have a laptop I haul around school pretty often and it would be much nicer for me between classes if I don't need to haul the disk around. Any help would be greatly appreciated, even further direction in where to look or how I can learn to do it for myself LOL. Thank you in advance.

Have you tried the original Civ 3 nocds since civ 3 gold is just the original civ 3 plus an expansion?

I haven't tried any of the No CD cracks for Civ 3 or the expansions based on the posts made roughly 3 months ago in this forum where others had tried it with no luck. It seems the way this game is set up it requires it's own crack. Granted I'm going on the assumption that the individuals who have attempted this and have commented on this in the past know more than I do in regards to this, LOL since I don't really know that much. So, I was hoping someone would share some successful experience before I went too crazy.

Okay, counter to what I read in previous posts regarding Civ 3 Gold, I did try the various No Cd cracks on Game Copy world (as per n00bie's advice)...and just like the individuals before me, I had absolutely no luck. So either they don't work for this particular version, or I just managed to do all of that wrong LOL. Just thought I'd drop in a little update on what I've attempted.
