Tooth paste can be a little abrasive though. Car Polish all the way

Car polish actually has oils that help with the buffing and protection of your disc and car.

Talking repairing disks

doesn't car polish have wax in it? tooth paste works well on deep scrachs best stuff to use is ring remover get this at a hardware shop for taking white cup marks out of polished tables this is a very fine abrsive in a liqued that removes wax/crap and the abrsive sands the surface so the mark is removed and leaves the table top very shiny also stuff called g3 rubbing compound used for restoring carbody colour is very good you can get this from any motor factor
hopes this helps

Car polish and Wax are 2 different things. Wax usually has silicone and car polish doesnt necessarily have it. A good polish is "Meguiar's Swirl Remover #9" .

You can use or try whatever you want. But Ive never used turtle wax on my discs so I cant recommend it. Give it a shot if you like, but let us know how it turns out afterwards.

so just slightly wet a cotton tshirt or something and place a little turtle wax and buff the dvdr from the inside out, no circular motions? might go pick me up some t-wax this week. Need to prep my games for transfer to my HDD (Some are a bit scratched.....)

it is not really necessary to slightly wet the tshirt first but it wont hurt anything either.

I use an orbital car buffer with the sheepskin pad with my turtle wax and it even gets out some of the deeper scratches. I have GTA vice city game and it was seriously hit. The buffer got them all out and its perfect again.
