One of Those "Other" Questions...

This is probably not the right place to post this question, but here goes.

I'm upgrading the TV in my room to a better one (the current one is monoaural, with a slightly wonky screen) , and I'm undecided between these two models:

29" JVC AV-F29MX3 (conventional screen, S-Video, Eco Sensor, etc.)

OR

21" Phillips RealFlat 21PT3324/69S (flat screen, S-Video + component input)

My point is, I'm not sure which would be more suitable for gaming inside a bedroom. A friend suggested that I should go for the JVC because screen distortion of a conventional TV wouldn't a problem for me, since I'd be sitting right in middle of the TV's screen. Plus, it's a 29" TV--relatively big for bedroom viewing

On the other hand, the Phillips 21" TV, IS new technology (latest model, according to the store manager).

Sorry for posting an off-topic question, but I really need help here.

Thanks!

Ok, here goes. First of all when you talk about "playing games" in the bedroom, who needs a TV

Kidding aside, while the 29" has the size, which always adds to the enjoyment of video games, bigger may not be better here. With the 21", not only do you get the newer and better flat screen tech but you also get component vid as well as S-vid.

So, that gives you better tech with more versatility and less viewing area. The 29" gives you more viewing area.......period. It's your choice but given the specs and that's it's in a bedroom, I'd choose the 21". But either way, I'm sure you'll enjoy it.

Good point! Mike

I agree with the 21" being the top choice. 29" is just too gawdy for a bedroom.

LOL! Not at my age, anyway But when a dude hits seventy, "visual stimulation" might be just as necessary as the partner.

Yeah, I have to agree with you guys. 29" does seem like overkill for a bedroom. 21" it is!

Many thanks, all!
