Adding new maps to COD

Need a little more help please, you did a great job the last time I needed help.
My problem this time is to do with adding new maps. I have downloaded three or four maps for COD they came with instructions ie insert .pk3 files into the main folder etc. these all work with no problem. Yesterday I downloaded a file called 'bos map pack v1' which contained a .pk3 file. How do I load this pack into COD please? I have looked to see if I could find a tutorial on adding maps etc but I haven't been successful.

pk3 files always belong in the 'main' folder of COD.

What is your specific problem? Can't you see/select the new maps when starting COD?

Thanks Eagle for coming to my rescue.
The specific problem I have got is that, basicly, I don't know what I am doing.
I have downloaded in total 3 new maps for COD. They are: Viaduct, Hamlet, and the bos map pack v1. which I cannot get to run. All three are .pk3 files. I have inserted them into the main folder in COD, as I have done with others that have worked ok, but when I enter 'map (and the name of the file) in the console they will not run. I get the message 'Cant find map (and the name of the file) I think the size of the .pk3 file is relevant, the one's that run are quite small (750kb) but the one's I am having trouble with are huge (5000kb+). I think that I ought to be doing something else besides entering the .pk3 file into the main folder. I need your help!!!

i think you downloaded multiplayer maps and try to run them in singleplayer mode ?

start cod multiplayer, then create a server and look for the new maps in the box-of-maps

Yes you are right, that is what I am doing.
I have no interest in multiplayer games so I will, in future make sure that any levels I download are specificaly for single player.
The single player levels are pretty thin on the ground though. I have only managed to find 4 maps for single player use. Unless........ someone can point me in the right direction for some more.

the only additional singleplayer map I got is called 'ardennes'.
don't know from where I got it though

Thanks Eagle, I will have a look at the web site you mentioned, I already have the Ardennes map, got it a couple of days ago. That's the quality map I am looking for, it's really great, don't you think?
