PS2 just died on me, should I repair or buy new?
Hey all, my PS2 just kicked the bucket. The laser was getting worse and worse so I went ahead and bought and used a lens cleaner and hoped it was working. But now when I try to load a game, any game, original or backup, it just makes a lot of noise and doesn't load. I got my ps2 pre-modded with a Messiah 2 Pro from www.socalmods.com and now I'm wondering if I should see bout getting it repaired somewhere or just get a new ones.
What do you guys think? And know of a good place? I live in NJ so if you think I should fix it, I'd have to send it somewhere, nowhere really around here as far as I know. And if I have to buy a new one, that's 270 down Any help is greatly apprechiated. |

Alot of people are having problems with v9,10. There not very good consoles. If you got it over a year ago there is a chance its a v7. If its a v7 its definately worth a new laser. Check out www.norcalmods.com to be sure about the version.

just checked, it's a V9
Also, I checked socalmods to see their prices on pre-modded ones incase it came to that. They don't even sell pre-modded Messiah 2 Pro's anymore. They have Duo2SE, Matrix Infinity, and DMS3. None of which I reconize as I've been away from modding news for a year. Which of these three is considered the all-around best or the safe-bet? That's IF it comes to that though. I'm hoping it's repairable, should be much cheaper, just checking my bases and getting some info. |

If i were you and it came to getting a new pre-mod i would consider Spedmetal at norcalmods.com. Look at the mod installers sticky, his reputation speaks for itself. He may also be able to help you with repair.BTW, Duo2 se, is every bit as good as Messiah2. DMS3 and Matrix are better.
