Silent Storm: Sentinels NoCD?

Hi!

the fixed .exe from MONEY doesn't remove the built-in unmounter and therefore is useless if one refuses to constantly swap CD's for any game above DOS-era.

SSS is too protected for its own good, after reinstalling wXP I was forced to do same for the game because it complained about Daemon Tools even though DT was yet to be installed.

Luckily I resisted the urge buy SS myself when my brother got it, call it paranoia or spider-sense (the latter saved me from the certain aberration Activision gave us, I was shopping before the movie started and saw the game, was about to buy it when something made me hesitate and left it in the shelf. For the first time I actually wish the PC-version would have been PS2-limited port with no mouse support at menus, etc...)
I am still waiting for working crack so I could buy and play it, although I am getting less and less willing to support anything that unmounts images without permission and complains about software that is still waiting to be installed.

PS. Sentinels may have partially killed my brothers DVD-drive, it now spits out CDs, but reads DVDs. Are Slot-In drives manufactured anymore?
Guess I'm not even going to borrow it...

u might not want to aniways, pcgamer gave it 18 out of a 100, now a game has to be REAL bad to get that mark.

at least the game ´s got 84% in most of our mags , so i think they really overshoted with the 18 outta 100...because the usual games which get such a bad review really suck...and this game is really good imho...sure,round based tactics is not everyone´s cup of tea, but for people who like this kinda game, like me, it is damn good...

sorry my bad i confused the game, and the reaosn why i trust pcgamer is because they dont just give it a random mark out of playing it a couple of hours like the rest do, they divide it into parts, then mark each of those parts and then put it all togueter and guet a final mark, ive gone through many pc gaming magazines and i can say its def the best one, (at least in uk, dunno about other countrys versions) aniways i got the wrong game lol.

I've looked into this further, apparantly the game uses jowood's Securom/Xprot V.3 ,similar to starforce it invades your sytem and disables deamon tools .dll file if you try using that as a back up.

I have had no success making a copy of the CD, used alcohol, nero..the works...hmmm used like 5 dc's to date!

(might as well buy another copy of the game and keep it still unwrapped )

not sure how the original no-cd crack was done for the exe, perhaps someone could enlighten me?

I'm also looking for a nocd file. Anyone found a way around the protection?

Just wondering if anyone ever had any luck with V1.1 in finding a way to get it to work? Securom 5 is getting a bit ancient now I think since its up to v7, someone must have a trick for this?
