No need for patch unless.....?

Most Ps2 games don't have protection on them. A patch is required if you need to change a game from PAL to NTSC. I highly recommend a copy program called RecordNow Max 4.5 . It will back-up PS2 games perfectly. The type of media is also important Ritek,TDK,Smart-buy are all really good. Stay away from cheap versions of Princo. If the price is to good to be true then you can bet the media sucks. If you use the search button you will find tons and tons of info on PS2 back-ups. Make sure you get a good Modchip also so it will boot all the games you back up. There is also tons of info on which Modchip you should use. Again do a search on this site for such info. Happy gaming.....

??????

You should be able to use those. But in the future spend a little more. The secret to burning PS2 games is to make an image. You will see this when you use RecordNow Max. Under the recorder tab it will say "build image" Alcohol 120% should have worked . #1) always burn images at the slowest possible speed. It might take longer, but you will get a better result. You can tell if your recording to fast or your media sucks by the games video cut scenes. When I first started burning Ps2 back-ups I was using Princos, all the ingame videos were choppy and stuttering. I bought another media eg. TDK and all my troubles were solved. Don't burn on the fly. Meaning reading the ps2 game and burning it at the same time. Always make an image (which is put on your hard drive) then burn the image. All of these things I'm telling you can be found on many back-up sites. Just use GOOGLE to search.

Burner type

Having a good dvd burner helps also. Pioneer,LG,Plextar,Sony are some of the best reliable burners. Brands to beware of are ACER,HP,. Check what everyone else is using.

yes make sure you get good media, and if possible have a good DVD Burner e.g. Pioneer, but if you have something else dont worry too much about it, as long as it works...

Also try and aviod CD games, as the laser has to try harder to read the disc which wears it out a lot faster..
