Do game backups brake the DC?

I've heard numerous rumors about backup copies burning out DC's. Is this true? Has it ever happened to you or someone you know?

Mmmm..... same here. Most boards have a mixed response. My guess (and I say guess) is that the ones that are not dummied and are quite small in size seem to make a hell of alot more 'motor thrashing' noise that the dummied version.

It would seem logical that the closer that the data is to the centre of the disc, the more the head will have to move in an out to read the same amount of data.

Game without dummy can make the dreamcast turn more faster so it can a little more demageble for the dreamcast but but game with a dummy will be ok.

P.S: Dummy is a crap files that you put in the game for be faster to read. It's normaly insert in the .cdi image and sometime but very rarerly in the .bin images.
