I don't really think any of those no-CD patches work. I've been following those threads for a while. People invariably end up with the 'Data Differs from Server' error...and for a good reason...data DOES differ from server.

Do yourself a favour and try drive emulation for BF:V (e.g. Daemon Tools, Alcohol) and mount yourself a flawless image of any of your original discs. If you want to save on hard drive space, get yourself a copy of Mini Image Ripper while you're at it. It brings the image file down to a respectable size.

im not so good at the technical stuff like that

If i was to make a copy of one my disks with alcahol

would i need some crack to first of all burn it?

and will it actualy recognise a copied cd as the original cd?

Using the method I describe, you do not need a crack at all. That is why it works so well.

Find a demo of Alcohol 120%, then create an image of any of your original BF:V discs (I used Disc 3) on your hard drive using Safedisc 2/3 settings. Then mount that image into the virtual drive in Alcohol. Put your CDs away. No more error messages.

You do need to remove all cracks first though. I recommend a re-install from the original discs to make sure all cracks are gone and the install is 100% legit.

Burning that image to CD defeats the purpose of no-CD cracks/emulation...why would you want to burn it? You do own an original copy of the game, right?

yeh dude but i only got 1 cd rom between 2 comps, so i gotta keep on shifting it between them which is a pain since i use both allot.

Is there a sticky/link going into more detail of how to do the above method?

Does it save the cd to your C drive and create a virtual drive, and when you launch bfv it recognises the virtual drive as the cd?

First of all, just get a demo/trial of Alcohol:
http://filetarget.com/alc.htm

Install it and you'll see how easy it is. The BIGgest problem people have is that the creation of the image can take up to 12 hours (or more depending on the speed of your machine). Just let it run. It reports thousands of errors but that just means it is working. Let it run.

Install Alcohol, run Alcohol, then hit the 'Image Making Wizard' button. At the bottom left of the screen you'll see a 'Datatype' drop-down box. Choose 'Safedisc 2/3' from that list and then create the image.

Alcohol creates a virtual drive by default. So, after you reboot your PC you'll see a new drive letter. Right click that new drive letter in explorer and you'll see a menu item call 'Mount Image'. Browse for the image file you created and it will mount. If you have problems with this, just click the 'Virtual Drive' button inside Alcohol for a list of settings.

When you run BF:V, it will see the virtual drive and use that to load up the game. The image you created is an exact duplicate so no need for cracks. And it loads TONS faster.

No problem, let us know how you make out.

I'm a huge battlefield fan so I try and help out folks who want to enjoy this game without the CD the same as I do

I've been preaching this method for a while and most people in this forum are sick of it

If you have the original game, ie: a valid serial number for online, the 1.1 crack by Joker does work to a degree. You can connect to any server in the list but when you switch servers you get "Insert CD...blah, blah..".
If you exit the game, then restart, you can again pick a server and play w/o the cd.
PITA, but does work, again assuming you own the game.
The Joker 1.1 was posted at GCW awhile ago.

thats totally normal, roman. just be patient, the image will be complete and fully functional.

these read-errors are part of the copy protection.

Read my reply again...I specifically stated that it can take up to 12 hours or more and you will get thousands of error messages

If you open and minimize Alcohol, then run and exit the game and then use Alcohol to read the CD, the error messages will speed past in a couple of seconds.

This works for all Safedisk protected games.
