question on matrix infinity

is it true that matrix infinity only works on dvd-r?

Mine seems finicky at times but i havent had any real problems either. When I say finicky, i mean there have been a couple of times that the dvd+r wouldnt boot at first but when i would retry, they work fine. Its been a while since this has happened though. For the past 3 months its been good to go. I think what caused it could have been a dust particle or something. All good now.

It has a lot to do with the quality of media you use as well. This isnt just with the infinity but with every PS2 as it has nothing to do with the chip, but the laser its self.
