Help Me Please Really Important!!!!!!!!!!!!

Heyy I am in need of some help my xbox does the flashing green and red thing with nuthing on the screen but i didnt do anything like try to mod it and the game will work sometimes if i keep reseting it but most of the time it just flashs and restarts.

The bad part is it isnt even my xbox i borrowed it and i dont want screw over my buddy

Is it red and green, or orange and green?

It hasn't been modded, and it reads games only sometimes? Mybe the dvd-drive is dying, but then you wouldn;t get a black screen. The screen is black, no error or anything? Is there audio?

ok it is not modded and it flashes red and green after restarting twice and i can no longer get it to work but when it had worked it flashed red and green so i turned it off and now it wont load nutthing no more.
i get no loading screen of any sort it just stays on my tv's video 2 screen
with no audio

if anyone out there knows what is wrong or has the same problem or knows how to fix it please add my email rugby09_**********com or continue posting here

well, this is new to me. It's not an HDD or dvd-rom problem, because it gives error messages if those are busted. Power seems to be ok. My only guess would be that something on the mobo corrupted somehow. Could be something wrong with the video jack on the board. I have no clue.

Well, it could be, but if you have never opened the box before this problem happened, it is highly unlikely. Something could have also overheated and busted that way.

I'm not sure, usually xbox break after people mess with them, not before lol. Hmm, stock xbox's usually break from the following things:
-power supply blown
-HDD died
-dvd died
-collision damage
-overheating (which cause parts to fry)
-damaged ports from shoving/stuffing and yanking cords in/out


I would rule out the HDD if you can hear it, or you don't get the error 07 on the screen. DVD-rom is not likely. There is an error, but usually they just stop reading or the trey stops opening when they break.

I doubt it is collision damaged. The power supply may have been damaged. POwer go out rescently or breakers blow? Do you smell anything funny when you are by the xbox and it has been on for a couple minutes? If it has or you do smell something, then the power supply may have a problem, and isn't completely powering up the xbox properly. Overheating is probably what I would say, although, it is hard to tell since the xbox is not in front of me. Damaged ports, well, it probably wouldn't blink red/green if that was the case. I doubt it is internal wires.

Although, don't rule out bugs. There was an image on llama.com of how a lizard, and a ****roach kamekaze'd an xbox by frying it lol. check out llama.com. browse the site as they have info that can help.

hmm well i still have power running
i dont get any funny smells and i doubt it over heated i barely played the thing
i dont use the dvd
and the cd tray still opens u just have to hit the open button 2wice
its not from colision i kept the thing in good condition didnt kik it
it could maybe be the hdd i will try replacing it but i really am clueless right now.

thanks for all this info but unfortunaltly this doesnt help me out much i now have to buy my buddy a new xbox. but the good news is i still have his old one to piss around with so if anyone finds out how to fix this problem please please please put a post up here

well, usually those exact same symptions happen when a chip was installed badly, or hasn't gotten any bios on it. Even the pressing the eject tray twice to open it. So, the onboard bios may have been corrupted. This happens but rarely (heat can cause it, even if the fan is fine). A modchip might fix it, but that is not a guarantee. If your friend desides to get one, install it in your xbox first to see if it works. If it does, then just keep it or get another one.

But, that is a generic problem, meaning any broken parts or fried chips on the mobo would cause that problem. You having to buy a new xbox might be just due to bad timing. It was probably going to frag anyways even if you didn't have it.
