Help getting Broadband ripping working - Xena or anyone?
OK, I finally got my broadband adapter for my DC which I have installed in place of the modem, have put a network card in my pc and installed that, and connected the two using a cat 5 cable.
I downloaded the passport disk from the site Xena directed me to and set that up (I think - see later). I have then burned the 0.0.0.0 ip disk which I downloaded from Xena's site, tried following the instructions for BBA but it would not connect!! I then downloaded the 192.168.0.100 ip disk from Xena's site (the one just below the dreamrip 2.01 in the download section), turned on the DC with that one in and then tried pinging the address 192.168.0.100 from my pc - none of the packets were returned so the two are clearly not communicating!! Can anyone help me please. Regarding the passport disk, I booted it up, clicked the left trigger to get the left menu up, went to options and then changed the stuff in there. When it first went in there was a load of oriental characters in each box which I changed to the appropriate IP addresses as set out in the BBA tutorial. At the end, I selected save without passwords (since I didn;'t put any in), but if I go back in to the options the oriental characters are back in the windows instead of the 192.168.....etc which I put in. Could this be the cause of the problem. Any help which can be proivded will be greatly appreciated. |

I am using a CAT 5 cale which we use for network access at work (ethernet system using windows 98).
Could the problem be the set up of the dreamcast with the BB Passport disk, and if so, how can I ##### that. The light doesn;t come on on the network card, so it obvoiusly isn't detecting the broadband adapter - I will try taking my DC to work and plugging it into the network card there as I know that one is working fine. Any further help would be appreciated |
