problem

ive had my xbox modded since feb this year but in the last month i gave my mate my 80 gig and bought a new one. but i also put his 8 gig original hdd into mine after i put evox onto it. anyway my point is my xbox now wont reconise a hdd at all and keeps coming up with hdd error 7 when there is the slayer disc in the drive or have the screen goes half black and when there is no disc in the drive it comes up error 16 dashboard. ive tried 2 different hdd and cant seem to fix it? if any one can help me that would be great

Was the 8gig hdd you got from your friend unlocked? I think you would have to unlock it via your friends xbox or the original xbox it came from. Then you can put it in another xbox.

Your 80gig probably worked in his because it was never locked to begin with and the transition went fine.

the 8 gig hdd from my mates xbox had evox installed on it, as he wanted all his old save onto his new one, so i loaded it using his xbox then, i blew his laser up so his wouldnt load up. so i put my drive into his xbox loaded evox on ftp all his crap to my computer and then loaded it all back using my xbox.


the weird thing is just before i got this new hdd i bought a 120 and it **** itself and started to make a clicking nosie so i took it back and got this 80 gig but now it wont work if u got any idea please let my know.

also when i dont put a disc in sometimes it comes up error 16 which is dashboard

but when i put a disc in it says hdd error but half the screen is still black i tried a 80 gig seagate a 80 gig western digitall these were both blank and then i tried my mate 80- gig western digital which was in mine first and there all doing the same thing?

somehow i think my xbox is locked
