Not so much as a guide, but Memorex isn't too good for most people, and even if it works it may not be doing too good for the laser. Just stick with what is tried and tested, and that is why we only use Ritek as we know it's safe and won't kill the PS2.

Memorex will work for a while and you may even get so use to them that your opinion of them may sway towards them being no probs for you but in the end, eventually your laser will wear itself out simply cause the dye isnt dark enough for the laser to read for a sustained amount of time. It will cause it to work harder to read them. As for Ritek brand media, the darker the dye, the better it is for the laser. Ridata G03's and G04's are the most recommended. Both are used by most of us only to prolong the life span of the PS2 laser.

Listen to this advice! it does make a difference!!

Many moons ago (old timers dit!) on my first ps2 i could get bulkpaq (YUK!!) to boot on my ps2, for about 3 months, then became very unreliable and erratic. eventually only booting originals and then only sometimes. Stick to the tried an tested brands (DVDMaster, Traxdata, Ridata, Ritek). They are the best for yr laser and will ensure max life from yr ps2.
