Give us some idea of what the error message is first!

Also, it's only possible to play a backup of FarCry using an image made by Blindwrite and using Alcohol to mount the image, according to the Alcohol Forums.

Basically it goes to the splash screen and then stops and this comes up

Far Cry has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience.

Huh? FarCry is Safedisc v3.15 (at least v1.0 is). Many drives will back that up including Lite-on's.

I was thinking of the DVD version of FarCry, forgot there was a CD version too!

The CD version should be able to be backed up with supported hardware, but the DVD version can't be copied yet that's why you need an image made with BlindWrite and mounted in Alcohol, that's what was mentioned on the Alcohol Forum.

Thanks for the clarification. I bought the CD-ROM version of the game specifically because I knew I could back it up on my CD-RW drive.
