connecting 2 computers with a lpt cable and using the internet on both
ive got two computers and ive got them connected with a parallel cable"printer lpt"and i want to use the internet on both at the same time with one phone line and one connection please help me

hmm i tried that i dont think its possible.. u need a router or at least a lan connection

It is possible, but you need a special cable called a "Null-Modem" cable. With that you can connect two PCs via the Com ports. However, this is very, very, very, very slow and i don't know whether theres software for sharing an internet connection for WinXP.
Just get two network cards and a cable, makes life a lot easier
