Problem with XP & User Names
I have a problem with my User Accounts on me computer. I had multiple user names on my Windows XP. I had a password on MY particular account/name. My Internet Explorer would never work any longer and showed my signs of come back ever. I called a technician and he said it was best that I do a system restart.
Anyways something came up and asked if I wanted to save the files from certain folders or whatever and I chose to. I am on my new restart but I cannot access the files that I had once had on my old User Name. The problem is that it is taking up a lot og GIGs and I am left with like 12 gig out of like 67. Not fair at all. I was wondering.. can anyone out there tell me how to properly retreive my old files or remove them without rebooting my computer again?!? Keep in mind, I STILL know the password.

Login with userid administrator, if you do not know the password then create a new user which is member of the administrator group (or has administrator rights).
Users with administrator rights can modify/delete/whatever with any file on your hd |

Mostly yeah. But I had a problem before to delete a map. The reason was
that the OWNER was not the administrator, witch is a deffualt, it was the user I deleted, so guess if it took me weeks to figure it out to unhook it. Well it can be so if you restrict a folder, then delete the user and forgot to undo it. :PThe thing is to login in with an administrator and signrights. It is neede a pro skills to get it to work. I am a pro, but I not the best man to explain things, so sorry can help you. A tip is to do some research in Microsoft support page. |

Aiight, maybe you guys didn't understand my problem. My old user name had as many capabilities as the "OWNER" name. Now, when my computer messed up a while back.. I rebooted it and decided to keep the files from my old User Name. However, this name had a password. Whenever I try to get into these files, I can't. It doesn't even give me the option of entering a password. I tried creating another user name with the same name as before but all it does is add .HOME to the end of it as another.
