Neo 2.5 Vs. Psx1 games - HELP!!

I just installed a NEO 2.5 in my psx2 - why will the ps2 only boot less then half my games? all games run fine on my psx1, and all media are high quality without scratches.
I tried burning the new Tony hawk 3 for ps1, and syphon Filter 3, they wont run on my Psx2 ver. 4 UK.

Someone please help me figure this out.

Not sure if they're NTSC versions but if they are then that's your problem.MY UK PS2 won't boot NTSC games without patching first.If you look on PSXCOPYWORLD on the utils section there's a program called PATCH-IT that allows you to patch the CDRWIN image of your game back to a PAL format.It means re-recording all your favourite NTSC games , but it does work!
