NEC ND-2500A 8x4DVD±R/W

I'm looking for a new burner that is reliable, good, and moderatly priced. I found the NEC ND-2500A 8x4DVD±R/W for 69.99 at a store, I'm not sure how good this will be for ps2 backups. Can anyone that have this product or know about this product tell me how good it is overall and for the ps2. I heard from a site it has good media compatibillity but I still want to know how good it will be for ps2 as my current burner gets the job done but can really make me

I would like to say that for $69 you cant go wrong, especially for an 8x dvd burner but keep in mind that you generally get what you pay for. I personally use a Sony Dru500A and am quite happy with it, even though its getting to be old school. It still ranges in price around $95 to $130.

As for a burner twice as fast for half the money, use your best judgement. NEC doesnt have a horable review but it has been said that they wear out faster. (laser issues) Not sure how true this is however cause due to that fact, I have steered clear of uninvited problems. Stick to the top brands for best results, even if you have to put off a purchase for a few extra weeks. Good media plays a very important role as well. Ritek is tops!

Just my recommendation.
