NWN backup

I always make a copy of games i own so i don't make scratches on my original cd. There's one game i can't make a copy of, thats "Neverwinter Nights: Hordes of the Underdark".

When i load the game with my backup cd, the game tells me to not use a backup cd...

I tried to make a copy with CloneCD and Alcohol 120%. I've tried to select "SecuROM" and "SecuROM NEW".

Anyone know how to backup the game?

did you check rmps at emulation in alcohol?i don't think so.you could use a crack though.if you burnt the with rmps then just go to alcohol->eulation(on the right) and check rmps

I don't use alcohol's virtual drive, i use daemontools. anyway, i'm going to burn the image on a cd-r.

The game has "SecuROM 5.0" protection. i made an image with clonecd and patched it with twinpeak, but it didn't work, anything else i can try?

nope seams that your burner dosen't support SecuROM 1:1 copy. OR you haven't use alcohol with 1x speeding read (recomended) and use Data Position Measurement with reading speed 1x. If it still dosen't functional, you drive like I said earlier, dosen't support 1:1 copy of SecuROM.

Can take up to 24h to make a 1:1 image of SecuROM with 1x speeding!

It's easier to emulate than burn SecuROM protection. Becuase all burner might not support it. Burn with 1x if you realy wanna have a good image burn.

I always recomend to burn on a cd-rw before you burn it on a cd-r.

You try the CD-R in a regular (non-burner) CD drive?
You try 'hide media' option so the game cant detect it is a CDR?

@ Shamanix
You can always try CloneCD again but this time just use the 'Protected Game CD' option! But as Krondike has already mentioned it may be because your burner wont do it! Nothing to do with the programs you are using! I find CloneCD does a quicker job of SecuRom protected game. I also use the CloneCD method to make a backup of my Starforce 3 games but this is only for the games that a NoCD crack is available for! I do however use Alcohol 120% for all other games! I hope it works for you.

Secrom

Ok, Understand. I have a burner that can copy 1:1. With the new secrom out there, can you make perfect copies that will play as well? I have copied it and it will install but will not play with the copied disk. I even tried on a computer that does not have a cd burner in it. Thanks for any help. Russ

The SecuROM 5 shouldn't be any diffrent in the copy way, than the newer version SecuROM 4. So if you can't handle the older SecuROM you can't handle the newer one. If you can handle newer SecuROM 4 you can handle the SecuROM 5!
