Most of your questions will be answered either in the ultimate sticky, as snake2 already mentioned. Searches also may prove useful. Most of the backup topics such as mod chips, most comon/best media, installers, burners, etc... have been covered several times. We are still here to help if you have trouble but we always recommend searches and the stickies.
Be sure to read the rules as well.
