DVD to mpeg, is it possible

Hi probably another stupid question from me, but

is there a utility that allows for a disk with several episodes on it to be saved on a hard drive as an mpeg, either version.

I guess that its mostly americans on here, so an example would be the west wing, with 4 episodes on each disk, could I save them as 1.mpg, 2.mpg, 3.mpg and 4.mpg.

thanks again if anyone can help me out

Actually people here are from all over the world.

Anyways, there are tools that will allow you to do what you need. Go to www.dvdrhelp.com and search around there. They are experts on pretty much everything on video.

Tyler!

thanks again tyler.

managed to get DVDx for converting DVD's to MPEG's
Use DVD Shrink to 'backup' discs over 4.5gb
Use DODsRIP to 'backup' discs under 4.5gb
and write them with Nero

perfect!

You seem to have the right programs. Let us know if you need further assistance. Most of your questions should be directed to the site Tyler gave though, as they are definitely the experts on this subject. Try to search topics first though cause most questions have already been answered.

yeah its a good site, Im kind off new at this, and came across this site by accident.

the search engines i use in the uk, mostly come up with hopeless search results, so this site, and dvdrhelp are godsends.

I should be ok now, fairly happy with the software that ive got now. I will stick around on the board though, who knows maybe I can help someone now
