Development of a motor for Graphical Applications and application to
the visualization of maps of the game Quake 3.

Summary:

Formed the QProject project this of two parts: - Motor for Graphical
Applications. - Shipper and Visualizer of maps of Quake 3. This
visualizer is mounted upon the QProject motor.

The execution file is QProject.exe, is necessary to form file PK3 of
the Quake 3 for search of maps and textures before. The procedure is
explained in the configuration section.

If they are wanted to add external maps to the Quake3 it is necessary
to copy these maps (archives PK3) to the Pak directory (or to the
selected one in the configuration).

The project works under Windows and using DirectX 8.1. An accelerator
board 3D equal or superior to NVidia TNT and a computer superior
Pentium II are recommended or.

Operation:

The operation is simple, the visualizer is a navigator who will allow
you to travel by the maps of Quake 3.

Initially it will appear an interface where the map will be selected
to load and the quality of the curved surfaces. In order to change the
map to load to be placed on option MAP and with the cursors right and
left the map is selected. In order to change the quality of the map to
be placed on option QUALITY and with the cursors right and left the
quality changes. Once selected to the map and the quality it will be
loaded selecting option LOAD. With the key ESCAPE the interface for
selection of map activates or deactivates. If map UNLOAD is loaded it
will unload the present map.

Once loaded the map with the mouse the position will change to the
direction of the camera and with the cursors. With the keys To and Z
the movement will be made upwards and downwards respectively.

Keys: F1 - It changes full-screen to window vice versa and. F2 - the
position Changes to the following DeathMatch. F3 - Activa/Desactiva
the Wireframe. 1 - Activa/Desactiva the sky. 2 - Activa/Desactiva
flares. 3 - Activa/Desactiva the volumetric fog. TAB -
